Rosh Hashanah 2014: Recipes and Menus
Posted on 20th of September, 2011 by Lévana
Although you will find my menu and recipe suggestions quite eclectic, I confess I couldn’t resist drawing liberally from my Sephardi heritage to make my Rosh Hashanah Recipes and menu selection. Our holiday dishes as I remember them served in my childhood home and beyond still make my tongue smile, even after all these years. And if all the pre-Rosh Hashanah cooking demos I have been invited to give in and around town are any indication, the feeling is shared by countless Sephardi food enthusiasts! I am on a demo tour this pre Rosh Hashanah week, cooking and teaching up a storm, spreading the good word: quick, simple and healthy! Many of these dishes are Gluten-Free without even trying!
Most of the following dishes are excerpted from my latest cookbook, The Whole Foods Kosher Kitchen: Glorious Meals Pure and Simple. Since the whole philosophy of the book was to make even the best and most elegant dishes simple and doable, affordable in every sense of the word, you will be grateful that none of them keeps you slaving in the kitchen, and goes easy on your pocket! So here comes!
No nuts on Rosh Hashanah? No problem! Simply skip them, in any case they only appear in a couple dishes.
Although this Rosh Hashana Recipes and Menu file is quite extensive, you will find hundreds more recipes on my blog, by going to the Recipe Index
