Jamie my dear Cyber friend: a metaphor? Are you kidding? Ha, this made me think of the Old Couple movie, where Walter Matthau tells Jack Lemon "In other words, you are throwing me out!", and Walter Matthau answers "No no not in other words. These are the correct words!" Get it? We ARE missing some screws! Oh I could write a book about marriage, a book/cum/food recipes. Or more exactly, on the wild difference between marriage mechanics, from one household to the next, admittedly with a similar thread running from one home to the next. Boy that rhread would be a few million miles long! Here are some of my reflections, just a little "hors d'oeuvre", described quite candidly http://www.levanacooks.com/welcome-to-our-venus-mars-home/ xoxoxo

"My old banged up pots and I, well, we were all missing some screws after all these years, we are all tarnished around the edges, but boy, did we -and do we still, more than ever- whip up some fantastic feasts!" I am assuming this is a metaphor for the husband and the marriage? I love this post, love the story! Made me smile. How funny the reaction of people and your reaction was perfect. And congratulations on such a long happy marriage.
