My Sangria Recipe
At the risk of bragging, I must tell you all: Sorry guys: My Sangria recipe is the BEST, period!
Ingredients:
2 cups very strong hot tea (green, black, red, white), decaf OK
A dozen cloves
5–6 cinnamon sticks
A few pieces fresh ginger
1 dozen peppercorns
2 bottles dry red wine, chilled
1 12-ounce can pineapple juice concentrate with no sugar added (or any other juice concentrate)
1 each: orange, green apple and lemon or lime, cut into medium-thin half slices
Optional: when your mixture is all ready, taste to see if you like it sweeter and add a little honey, sugar, or even juice concentrate.
Instructions:
Mix the first set of ingredients in a teapot, and let it steep and cool completely. Strain the mixture into a large pitcher. Add the wine and fruit. Keep chilled. No ice. Serve with some of the sliced fruit in each glass.
Variation: White sangria GF, P
Green tea, dry white wine, light-colored juice concentrate just as apple, orange or pineapple (no cranberry, red grape, or pomegranate). Proceed just as above.
