Chai Mix Recipe

Posted on 9th of March, 2011 by Lévana

Delicious in hot or cold tea. Even in hot cider! Even in hot chocolate: Hello! It will take you minutes to put together, and it will last you months. Passover: Skip any spice you can’t find and double up on what you have, just as long as you have the cardamom (a must!).

2 tablespoons ground anise
2 teaspoons finely ground pepper
1 tablespoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons cinnamon
⅓ cup cardamom
2 tablespoons ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground cloves

Mix all ingredients thoroughly in bowl, then transfer to a perfectly clean and dry glass jar. Store with your spices. Makes 1 cup mix.
For 1 cup chai: Start with about ¼ teaspoon of the mixture per cup of hot tea (or hot chocolate, or hot cider) and increase it to your own taste. Add milk and sugar to taste.
